Ahlen, February 28, 2011 - Light-weight design and perspective of flow-forming technology -
LEIFELD presentation at congress “Plastic Forming Association“ in Japan
Particularly the automotive industry is eager to take advantages of reduced weight and costs as well as low fuel consumption. Based on a long tradition in research and development, Leifeld has consistently advanced and perfected flow-forming technology for manufacturing drive units. The work-hardening characteristics result in weight-optimized design from clutch drums to double-clutch housings. However, not only does the sophisticated Leifeld technology reduce the weight, it also allows minimization of manufacturing steps.
The new vertical Flow Forming Center manufactured by Leifeld (FFC series) fits the increasing demands in productivity, technology, as well as final products. High flexibility, low set-up times, and shortest unloading and loading times make the FFC a worldwide demanded machine series. Read more about the FFC series.
Oliver Reimann, Vice President Sales at Leifeld Metal Spinning AG, was keynote speaker for current developments and outlook of resource-saving drive technology on the “Plastic Forming Association“ congress in Japan. Together with Hideo Iwai, Sato Shoji Corporation, year-long sales representative for Leifeld in Japan, Oliver Reimann presented background information and advantages of the flow forming series to approx. 110 leading experts from science and industry. Oliver Reimann was delighted about the participants’ strong interest. “It has been an honour to me to talk to such experienced specialists. The enthusiasm and the numerous discussions have shown the great demand for the brand new FFC technology. Specially, the Japanese market promises interesting perspectives and high innovation potential.”
